Josh Bitel, CFP®, is CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional at Center for Financial Planning, Inc.®. In addition to working closely with clients as a Lead Financial Planner, he is in the firm’s Financial Planning Department and a member of the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce.

Josh specializes in helping clients achieve financial independence through a number of in-depth retirement analyses. Josh is passionate about helping guide clients through emotional, sometimes stressful, transitions in their lives and providing confidence in a secure retirement plan. Josh has a special interest in retirement income and distribution planning.

Josh has been involved in the financial services profession for over 8 years and joined The Center team in 2016. He is a frequent contributor to The Center’s “Money Centered” blog and is also a trusted resource for local and national media publications. Josh also frequently speaks at several local libraries on topics such as Social Security, taxes, and retirement income.

Josh and his wife, Rachel, live in Macomb County. In his down time, Josh enjoys going to the gym and playing as much golf as this Michigan weather will allow for. Josh and his wife are also animal lovers and have fostered several dogs throughout the years.

  • Working with clients within five years of retirement or currently in retirement

  • Developing tax-efficient portfolio distribution and retirement income strategies

  • Helping clients reduce current and future taxes through prudent planning (Ex. tax-efficient charitable giving, Roth IRA conversions, Medicare premium planning, tax-efficient portfolio construction, etc.)

  • Social Security/pension analysis and maximization strategies

  • Employer retirement plan maximization strategies (401k, Deferred Compensation, Stock Options, after-tax “mega Roth” etc.)
